
Muhammad Mufeed B.H., a student from Karnataka, emerged as the winner of the book-writing competition held during the Jamiathul Hind National Academic Fest. The competition, based on the theme “Islamic Economic Principles: Their Practicality in the Modern Economic Era,” saw Mufeed secure first place with an A grade for his outstanding performance. A student of Markazul Hidaya College of Islamic Studies in Kodagu, Mufeed’s work explored how the Islamic economic system can address modern challenges such as poverty, unemployment, and economic growth. His analysis highlighted the significance of zakat, waqf, and takaful in creating sustainable solutions.
The contest, conducted in Arabic, required participants to submit essays of at least 20 pages within a week. The event aimed to test participants’ knowledge, language proficiency, and analytical skills. Abdul Basith from the Siddiqiyya Majma of Edavannapara Da’ira secured second place, also earning an A grade.
Mufeed’s achievements extend beyond this contest. He recently won first prize in a book criticism competition for his review of “The Ten Keys to Success” by Dr. Ibrahim El-Feki. He is also an active participant in Arabic book reading and declamation contests.
Currently pursuing his final year of a BA in Sociology at Bangalore City University, Mufeed hails from Kotlipet in Kodagu district. He is the son of Abdul Hameed and Maimoona.
